Auburn pay for play |
First of all, if there is a God, why would have not love Oregon as much as Auburn? Especially considering that everyone knows Cam Newton should be ineligible. Everyone who has seen Auburn, including in the title game saw Nick Fairley continuously play dirty. Watching him speak after the game, many would question how he made it into college.
For those who do not follow closely, most South Eastern Conference (SEC) teams are notorious for lower academic standards than some other conferences, and for oversigning.
That is not what won for Auburn tonight though. No. God loves the little thugs apparently. Perhaps God will oversee the NCAA investigation into Cam Newton through to the end to make sure Auburn's title is not stripped from them. Now that TCU has been kept out though I do not think God will be there for Auburn.
SEC is not the lowest education in the nation! Auburn is the one of the lowest education in the nation because Auburn and Miss State University can't even read the NCAA and BCS's policy before let Auburn recruit Cam Newton to play on the field!
ReplyDeleteHey DA, Miss State followed the rules! Cecil Newton asked us for money, we said, "No", and reported it in January to the SEC. Get your facts straight before you spew this crap. makes you look like an idiot.
ReplyDeleteBeing the NCAA knew about the PFP scheme BEFORE the season and then to make Cam ineligible for one day before the SECCG it appears that rules only apply to those who don't have money. Hopefully the FBI comes forward with something on the Boosters with the hours of tapes they have on the top guys. Corrupt as they come at Auburn University.

Wow, you are a real sore loser. Emphasis on loser. I didn't see Fairley continuously play dirty. I saw him make one stupid mistake early and dominate the Ducks offense the rest of the night. "Everyone knows"? - sorry, people much more knowing than you who have investigated this have deemed otherwise. I don't know about academic standards, but it has no bearing on last night's win.
ReplyDeleteWant to hear about buying (almost) a national title - look no further than Phil Knight, whose $300 million investment in Oregon paid no dividends last night.
His stupid ass should have been ejected for that knee. Maybe the refs suck SEC dick as much as you do?
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't even Fairley who kneed Dion Jordan...It was Eric Smith. Did you even pay a little attention to the game. Smith was penalized on the play and the Ducks got 15 yards out of it and had a chance to score right before the half.
ReplyDeleteAs far as cheating allegations and pay for play goes, It's amazing how many ordinary citizens have access to "factual" information about Auburn and Cam Newton, that have managed to elude NCAA investigators for the better part of a year now. Maybe something comes out in the future, and maybe it doesn't. The fact of the matter is that two great football teams met up last night and one of them came out on top.
As far as academics here is the ratings for both schools:
Auburn: http://collegeprowler.com/auburn-university/academics/
Oregon: http://collegeprowler.com/university-of-oregon/academics/
Funny seems like they both received the same ranking for Academics.
I think it is only a matter of time until the NCAA sends a message that Cam Newton's family member request for $$$ was unacceptable. College football recruiting is heavily focused on marketing the program benefits to the parents/family of the players and they play a significant role in the signing process. The lack of consequence to Cam Newton implies that this behavior will be acceptable moving forward which opens up a huge can of worms.
ReplyDeleteI understand the NCAA's fear to take action during the season because it would have caused absolute chaos and controversy in the media mid-season. There was a lot of $$$ involved with Auburn playing in the National Championship with the highest cable tv ratings in the history of the bcs championship. For example - a nielsen rating of 67 in Birmingham, AL and Auburn fans travel. This aligns with letting Ohio State's players play in the Sugar Bowl...gotta cash in the money.
My prediction: After Cam Newton enters NFL, violataions will come out similar to Reggie Bush and they will vacate the Heisman Trophy. Whether Auburn broke any rules will be TBD, but morals and ethics are suspect to take the guy in with his track record of being trouble. The NCAA will make sure "they have all the facts", wait until sensitivity goes down and it is a distant memory, but really they are just delaying it to make sure all checks are cashed with minimum damage to marketing college football. That is my humble opinion.
